Images of Ottoman Empire from the Pierre de Gigord Collection

Presented here is a selection of photos about the Ottoman Empire from the Pierre de Gigord Collection, which contains over 6000 photos from 1850-1958. This collection was recently made digital and free for anyone to access through the The Getty Research Institute.

We looked through this extensive collection for Armenian related images, from which we put together the small selection presented here. This is a very interesting and large collection with photos portraying all sorts of life and history, and we would encourage anyone who has the time to look through it, as you never know what you may find.
