UK Armenians & WW1 project is being funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund and delivered by the Centre for Armenian Information and Advice. The project will undertake archival research; record and preserve personal memories, photographs and other media relating to this period for future generations. It will cover a wide range of multimedia activities, including talks, research, workshops, interviews, photographic exhibition and film production, and will create a comprehensive resource for the UK Armenian experiences in the WW1. The project started in April 2016 and will continue till December 2017. You can view the full project timeline here, as presented during the UK Armenians & WW1 launch event:

The project will be driven by volunteers, and will provide various interesting training sessions. We are also constantly looking for contributors to share family stories, so if you want to cooperate and be involved in any way, please get in touch:

During 2016, the Project has completed some of the outcomes, such as creation of a blog, organisation of events and training sessions to enable the volunteers to contribute to the project, learn new skills or refresh their existing skills. We have already started ¬†recording¬†and filming a number of project contributors for the archive and a documentary film is being made based on the interviews. Here are some numbers to summarise this year in the project’s timeline, but we have even bigger and more exciting things coming up!
